This blog is where I go each night to publish any progress that I might have made on my personal game development learning project which is currently titled, "Aspect of the Mazoku".
Aspect of the Mazoku, or 'Aspect' for short, is a role playing game made with old school role playing game sensibilities in mind. Gameplay emphasis will be placed on battle tactics, party management, stat sheets, non-combative skill management, dungeon exploration, and copious amounts of various loot, much more so than in most modern RPGs. Essentially, Aspect of the Mazoku is a role playing game for those of us who hope to find more role playing in our role playing games.
However Aspect is also a game with characters and a story.
At the moment of posting this, a large portion of the progress thus far lies in the code. Which I will not be posting due to the fact that I would like to keep the specifics for the battle system under wraps for the next few months.
Anyway, I don't expect many or any readers, at least for a while. Hopefully, in 6 months or so I'll have something worth posting to reddit or some other site like that.
Btw, this is a solo project. I will be handling code, graphics, sound, animation, and game design.
I am not a professional at this. I am merely a student of the internet. The graphics, sound, etc will not be professional quality but I hope that the gameplay will be compelling enough so that people might forgive any other perceived shortcomings.
